Cinema Role is a podcast about movies, brought to you by two old friends, Fish and Squid.
While our world seems to be falling apart around us, we decided to spend some time together discussing movies… but which ones? What started out as a “you know what would be a fun podcast idea” discussion turned into a pretty solid plan. And so, after compiling a list of over 1300 movies, we figured out an interesting way to choose a random movie: letting the dice decide. We roll, watch it and then discuss, letting dice rolls drive that discussion too.
Turns out, there are a lot of moving parts to getting a podcast off the ground. Who knew?! So while we’ve started recording and editing episodes, we’re working one getting quite a few episodes recorded so we can launch a little smoother. That gives us time to find the selected movie to watch, take notes on, and discuss. We live in different states (but the same time zone at least) and have lots of other family-related moving parts to juggle. Doing it this way gives us a nice buffer for when life happens… as it does.
Our target launch date for the podcast is is March 31, 2026.
We’ll be releasing new episodes every 2 weeks.

We’ve mostly figured out all the minute details of launching our movie podcast. We’ve even begun recording and editing episodes!
